  • Lord of the Flies on a boat

I love Fesseden's movies. He has a deep appreciation for culty B-Movies and this is no exception. Fun throwback to the Saturday matinee's, but with more depth. Sure, the fish looks almost laughable, but it's not supposed to be the focus of the film. It's like Lord of the Flies - to see how the relationships of these "friends" breaks down as they fight for survival. The director skillfully lures you in and the conclusion is brilliant! A really thoughtful well made film!

If you enjoy low budget, 1950s style horror movie then this is the movie for you. Yes, the characters and plot are not Oscar material and I have see more realistic monsters. However, it was fun to watch. You have to laugh at certain times when the characters make less than intelligent decisions. That is part of the fun of the movie. There is some suspenseful parts of the movie as well. If you take this movie too seriously, you will hate it. But if you want a good laugh and enjoy low budget horror, this is the movie for you..

So I tried sincerely hard to keep interested in this and all in all it's reasonably fun to watch but wow the creature was bad. I'm pretty sure it had to be this absurd intentionally...right?! I mean at times it appeared to move so ridiculously slow in the water that someone was able to beat it with a cooler lid and at other times it could out swim and healthy and athletic young guy. I also found it funny that without any means of rowing the boat it still stayed dead in the middle of the lake without drifting at all towards shore. Not that that is impossible but seriously unlikely. Anyway I love low budget horror and this was fairly entertaining but incredibly predictable and maybe a tad bigger of a meal than the budget allowed them to eat. I would definitely rent before buying but maybe give it a try if you are lacking anything new to watch. Enjoy!

I really wanted to like this movie but the characters kept making the most absurd decisions, and their actions were so implausible that I could not suspend my belief for the required 90 minutes. There is a bit of bad acting, mixed with some good, but overall the plot falls short of being fully developed, so I don't feel that the actors had a lot to work with. I'd recommend this film to horror enthusiast who are okay with faults such as I listed, but I suspect many viewers will be left feeling annoyed.

I was willing to give the movie a chance. But every moment made me realize that the people on this thing werent trying to make a comedy. Have you ever been trapped in a lake while about 20 yards from shore ? If u were trying to get to shore , would u inexplicably go the long way? And if someone had died to give u a minute to escape, a monster would u spend that time - over and over -arguing about whether ur girlfriend slept with someone else? Movie was boring and ridiculous. Although the monster was unintentionally very funny. DON'T RENT IT!!!!
