We home school our son (April 2010) and he loves watching Bill Nye and often requests it when he finishes his workbooks. I have even overheard him telling his grandfather (a rocket scientist) what storms are when he hears thunder.

In third grade me and my class were forced to watch this crap by our over entusastic spazzy teacher. It was a great way to laugh our heads off. BILL! BILL! BILL! BILL! We were all laughing but our teacher couldn't hear us, because she was old. We made fun of it soooo much. This is crap, funny crap, but crap.

I got my best encouragement and excitement for the sciences as a kid in 7th grade watching Bill Nye every day after school on PBS. 20 years later, I have a career in the biotech industry. Today's kids need more shows like Bill Nye!
